See which four names have recently been added to Bloodstock 2019

As the festive season descends upon us, BLOODSTOCK come bearing gifts – four more bands for 2019!

Saturday’s special guest on the Ronnie James Dio main stage will be none other than thrash titans, ANTHRAX. The band are set to start work on a new studio album in 2019, so maybe we’ll get to hear something new at BOA19!  In the meantime, check out a live version of their classic ‘Madhouse’, taken from their recent live DVD release, ‘Kings Among Scotland’

In a UK exclusive, Norwegian black metal legends DIMMU BORGIR join the bill as BLOODSTOCK’s special guests on Sunday.  After an eight year gap, the group released their tenth studio album, ‘Eonian’ via Nuclear Blast in May.  Investigate the video for ‘Council Of Wolves And Snakes’ from that opus

Adding to the main stage fun on Saturday, are Australian deathcore beasts THY ART IS MURDER.  While the band have four albums, including their most recent, ‘Dear Desolation’ to familiarise yourself with, they tantalisingly just dropped a brand new track on Black Friday.  Listen to ‘Death Perception’

Homegrown British act TESSERACT bring their blend of djent and progressive metal to Catton Park on Friday.  Most recently, the band have been traversing Europe with touring buddies Between The Buried And Me.  Watch the video for ‘Juno’, from TESSERACT’s fourth studio album ‘Sonder’

These four bands join the previously announced Friday night headliner, SABATON, Sunday’s bill toppers SCORPIONS, together with CHILDREN OF BODOM, CODE ORANGE, SOILWORK, CRADLE OF FILTH, METAL CHURCH, SKELETONWITCH, DEATH ANGEL, DEE SNIDER, QUEENSRYCHE, ELUVEITIE, EVIL SCARECROW, ROSS THE BOSS, GRAND MAGUS, ROTTING CHRIST and HYPOCRISY on the Catton Park stages next August.  Stay tuned for more bands to be announced in the New Year!

Over 1,000 artists and performers from the world over took to Óbuda Island including Stormzy, Shame, Shawn Mendes, Goo Goo Dolls, Slaves and many more.

BLOODSTOCK add four more for Halloween

Just in time for Halloween, BLOODSTOCK is excited to announce four more spooktacular bands and add the 2018 Rock Society tickets to the ticket store.

We’re excited to announce that WATAIN will bring their black metal ritual to headline Sunday’s Sophie Lancaster stage in a UK festival exclusive. Frontman Erik Danielsson tells us, “Our last performance at BLOODSTOCK in 2012 was also the final date on the ‘Lawless Darkness’ tour. The sun was setting while we played and the crowd was getting louder and wilder the darker it became. A very charged atmosphere. Eager now to return and see what the eventful years that have passed and the force accumulated since then has done to both us and the BLOODSTOCK crowd. Furthermore, England is, of course, sacred ground when it comes to Metal in general, so when performing there, the stakes are always high. May all those that doubt be impaled upon them.” Look out for the band’s long-awaited sixth studio album arriving on 5th January 2018!

German power metallers, ORDEN OGAN also land a Ronnie James Dio main stage slot on Saturday. The band released ‘Gunmen’, their fifth studio album, this summer via AFM Records. Check out the video for ‘Gunman’ here and get a taster of what’s in store for their set in 2018.

Atlanta aggrotech outfit, COMBICHRIST also join the main stage bill for an early slot on Friday. The band have been working on new music after the release of their eighth studio album, ‘This Is Where Death Begins’ which landed in 2016. Check out the new track, ‘Broken:United’ at the following link –

Also landing an early main stage slot on Friday are British death/grind four-piece, MEMORIAM. Combining ex-members of Bolt Thrower and Benediction, MEMORIAM’s pedigree is high. The band of scene veterans are hard at work on the follow up to their debut, ‘For The Fallen’ released via Nuclear Blast earlier this year. Check out ‘Reduced To Zero’ taken from that opus here.

BLOODSTOCK’s Rock Society tickets become available in the store on Halloween morning, 31st October at 9.00am! The ‘Rock Society’ is effectively the festival’s ‘Members Club’, offering not only a 10% discount on your weekend ticket (on top of the early bird discount if you purchase the Rock Society membership + ticket bundle option), but all sorts of other cool benefits like priority signing tent access, a Rock Society laminate, access to the VIP Serpents Lair bar, a tour of the backstage & production areas to see ‘behind the scenes’, the chance to meet with the festival organisers, a dedicated hangout area in the Rock Society tent on site, a Rock Society Facebook community where you can make friends and get to know your fellow RockSoc members and plenty more besides. Full details can be found at Memberships are priced at £75, limited to 300 and sell out almost immediately, so don’t delay if you want to pick one up.

Also now in the store are tickets for our new VANAHEIM campervan field. Due to increasing demand each year, we’ve made some site adjustments to allow for more pitches. As such, the new VANAHEIM site is located across the road, directly adjacent to Serpents Lair VIP parking, allowing an increase in size to accommodate 240 campervans, as opposed to just 130. Campervan pitches always sold through very rapidly, so this allows for more of our metal brethren to join the campervan club. Tickets for campervan pitches will remain at this year’s price of £60.

With Friday night headliners, JUDAS PRIEST, Saturday night headliners, GOJIRA and Sunday headliners, NIGHTWISH already announced, along with EMPEROR, DEVILDRIVER and NAILS, 2018 is shaping up to be another stellar year for BLOODSTOCK.

BLOODSTOCK’s first wave of Serpents Lair VIP tickets are now SOLD OUT! The final allocation, the last batch of VIP deluxe packages and a limited amount of VIP upgrades priced at £145 (for those who’ve already bought ‘early bird’ tickets) will then become available on 16th December at 9am in the ticket store. Mark your calendars and don’t delay if you want to join us in 2018’s VIP Serpents Lair, as they’re moving faster than ever before!

Standard weekend tickets are currently available at ‘early bird’ prices (just £125 for four days of metal fun) so grab yours now at the ticket store if you want to save £20! In order to keep up with inflation and extra costs in 2018, standard weekend tickets with camping will increase from last year’s £139 to £145 once the ‘early bird’ allocation is gone.

BLOODSTOCK will take place at Catton Park, Derbyshire on 9th-12th August 2018. Get additional information over at

BLOODSTOCK announces first RAM Gallery exhibit; The Judas Priest Wall

BLOODSTOCK is excited to announce the first details of 2018’s onsite RAM Gallery, one of the more unique elements that sets BLOODSTOCK apart from other festivals. Festival founder and globally renowned artist, Paul Raymond Gregory created the onsite RAM Gallery in 2014 and each year the purpose-built structure showcases not only some of Paul’s work, but several other BLOODSTOCK-related rock and metal-friendly artists and creators. This year the festival has chosen to honour the Friday night’s headliners, Judas Priest with a dedicated wall in the gallery, including some of the band’s album artwork and two incredible new creations, the ‘British Steel’ guitar and the ‘Angel V’ guitar from the RAM Gallery’s luthier-in-residence, Cynosure. Cynosure’s previous guitar-as-art creations honouring Motorhead and Saxon in years prior garnered global attention. Further details on Paul’s own work in 2018’s gallery, as well as details on the other artists exhibiting, will be announced in July.

Paul Raymond Gregory explains, “As an artist and founder of BLOODSTOCK, I decided to take my next journey with art and music by creating the My first step was to go back to my roots as a gallery owner by establishing the RAM Gallery at BLOODSTOCK with an inaugural exhibition in 2014. When Judas Priest were confirmed to headline the main stage in 2018, I decided to create a Priest wall in the gallery. The wall would feature some of the band’s iconic album art, plus two bespoke, hand-crafted guitars to sit either side of the band’s latest ‘Firepower’ album artwork. The guitars were created by artist-in-residence, Cynosure a talented luthier who has made guitars for the museum’s RAM gallery each year since 2014. Mark Wilkinson, the artist responsible for many of Judas Priest’s iconic album covers, has also shown his support by designing The Priest Wall. Both Mark and Cynosure will be at the festival this year.”

Check out these video clips illustrating Cynosure’s amazing guitar builds for the Judas Priest ‘Angel V’ and ‘British Steel’ guitars and come along in August and see the axes in the flesh at the RAM Gallery!

Cynosure comments, “Quite simply, this is the biggest opportunity of my career to date. I am thrilled to have been asked by Paul Raymond Gregory to produce two guitars to honour the inimitable powerhouse of metal, Judas Priest. For a band that defined metal music and inspired millions, I am humbled to work so closely with them.”

BLOODSTOCK is pleased to announce that the festival’s official charity partner for 2018 will once again be the TEENAGE CANCER TRUST. Since partnering up in 2011, BLOODSTOCK is very proud that over £62,000 has been raised to date to help young people facing cancer, so this year we’re aiming to bust the £80K mark! Don’t miss the charity’s stall in the market area, where you can purchase Teenage Cancer Trust merchandise and join in the very popular ‘T-Shirt Amnesty’ (bring your unwanted band t-shirts to donate or swap) and help raise funds for this very worthy cause.

Come join us in August! Standard weekend tickets are on sale now, priced at £145 for four days of metal fun. Grab yours at A limited number of one day tickets go on sale on 29th June.

Your support for BLOODSTOCK’s regional METAL 2 THE MASSES finals has been greatly appreciated, helping us continue to give a platform to up n’ coming, grassroots talent and bring the best to everyone’s attention at BLOODSTOCK! Without further ado, here’s the next batch of winners who’ll be appearing on the New Blood stage!

But if you’re more into Orange Goblin, Pantera, and Kyuss, don’t miss Carlisle top dogs, DRUDGE (, whose twin vocal layered approach might pay homage to the likes of Alice In Chains, but their doom/groove-soaked heart belongs to Sabbath-esque riffs.

Dropping in on Friday are KAMIKAZE TEST PILOTS ( Be sure to check them out if you like your Melvins, Corrosion of Conformity, or Clutch, with a bit of a twist. Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda, Death From Above, The Used, Lady Leshurr and Yxng Bane are just some of the new names added, while Harry Hill, Seann Walsh and Mo Gilligan are among the first comedy acts announced. They’ll be performing alongside Kings of Leon, Kendrick Lamar, Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the Disco at the famous Richfield Avenue and Bramham Park. Tickets are on-sale right now and available here.

Mike Shinoda – founding member of legendary rock band Linkin Park – will play exclusive festival shows at Reading and Leeds Festivals this Summer. Fans can expect a mixture of material new and old including the Post Traumatic EP and new music to be released later this year. The Reading and Leeds shows are sure to be unmissable special sets.

Haslemere-born prodigy Rex Orange County makes alternative pop that weaves together the epic fantasy of teenage love with the mundane reality of teenage life, he joins the line up along with Maryland’s most exciting export, the artful and hypnotic Maggie Rogers, Sydney based rock band DMA’S and Sam Fender, who mixes gritty vocals with world class production – imbuing his nascent indie anthems with an acerbic bite.

Exciting alt-rock concept Dinosaur Pile-Up who hail from Leeds itself join the Reading and Leeds bill for a triumphant hometown set as well as one down south, with the likes of hardcore punk outfit Blood Youth, King Nun, Bloxx and more all affirming our love for British rock acts right now.

A world-class music festival, however, needs a global line-up and the latest raft of names does not disappoint. Canadian rock heroes Death From Above will be on hand to represent this year, whilst Scandi garage rock outfit Royal Republic also join. Possibly the most exciting alternative outfit from Bologna in recent years Husky Loops are also signed up, as well as Australian alt-rockers Chase Atlantic, Nashville indie-poppers Coin, Utah’s noughties rock legends The Used and St Albans pop-punk band Trash Boat.

Opening the main stage at Reading only will be internet sensation Big Shaq and Friends. Elsewhere, Lady Leshurr – London rapper, singer and producer extraordinaire – makes her return to Richfield Avenue and Bramham Park this year. Croydon’s latest R&B export, Hardy Caprio, joins to showcase his talents and prove himself worthy of the critical acclaim he has garnered lately. Yxng Bane – shortlisted on almost every ‘one to watch’ list for 2018 – also joins to take the crowd through streaming smashes such as ‘Rihanna’. Protoje, Suspect, Sneakbo, Ocean Wisdom, Skengdo x AM and more also feature.

It isn’t stopping there. Comedy is an essential part of Reading and Leeds Festivals and today the first wave of funny acts has been announced. TV star, comedian and one of the most recognisable faces in the country, Harry Hill will be bringing his wacky, surreal stand-up to the Alternative Stage this year. Joel Dommett, Seann Walsh, social media star Mo Gilligan as well as ‘King of the Council Estate’ Lee Nelson will also take to our stage. We also have the most exciting rising stars: The Sun’s Best New Comedian winner Tom Lucy will be there, plus fresh and fierce stand-up star, Lauren Pattison. ‘Man’s Not Hot’ rapper/comedy star Big Shaq will also be making a very special comedy appearance at Leeds Festival only.
