Skinny Lister: A Jolly Roguish Ramble
Skinny Lister are the soundtrack to a salty sea dog’s wildest dreams. Their music is a boisterous blend of folk, punk, and sea shanties, served with a generous side of raucous good time. With instruments ranging from the traditional fiddle and accordion to the electric guitar, they’ve crafted a sound that is both familiar and refreshingly original.
Their lyrics are a treasure trove of nautical metaphors and storytelling, filled with tales of love, loss, and the open sea. There’s a sense of camaraderie and inclusivity in their music that invites you to join the party, whether you’re a seasoned sailor or a landlubber.
Live, Skinny Lister are a force to be reckoned with. Their energetic performances are a whirlwind of sing-alongs, crowd surfing, and general merriment. It’s impossible not to be swept up in their infectious enthusiasm. While their music may be rooted in tradition, their spirit is undeniably modern. Skinny Lister are proof that folk music can be as relevant and exciting as any other genre.
