   Their website is really interesting.

   https://electrisize.de/electricity/

It looks like what they’re doing is this:

   * the normal festival is canceled
   * for the small number of people they can fit in to this kind of event, they’re setting up a “festival camping experience” with some djs and live acts performing on a central stage. “wir wollen ein kleines bisschen das verlorene Festivaljahr wiedergutmachen.”

attendees are required to comply with the coronavirus social distancing rules. among other things, this means no more than ten people per sector can be up close to the stage.

so it’s … an attempt to capture a slice of the festival camping experience by providing segregated campgrounds with activities and some live music, wthout actually having a full on festival. each sector is limited to 100 people so it’s 600 people total.

i don’t think this would work for me, and i’m not sure it can be done safely, but it’s an interesting idea. maybe for the super super super hardcore camping vibe people, a camping vibe experience without the festival would work?

This is just camping, not a festival. All major events are banned in Germany for the summer.

“We, of course, also adhere to the ban on major events. But the electricity works because we divide the campsite into 6 sectors. Only 100 visitors are allowed to camp in each sector. Visiting another sector is not possible. Each sector is structured exactly the same and contains its own sanitary facilities and its own area in front of the 360 degree stage?

I fucking hate that they didn’t stagger the primary colors and put the intermediates between them. I like what they’re trying to do but if they missed out on that easy of an opportunity I don’t think this thing is run by the finest of German engineers
