We love this photo by John Jowett because for us the festival is all about the people and the places.
It’s less than five weeks until Long Division 2018 hits.
We’ve got national artists like Billy Bragg and The Lovely Eggs , amazing emerging talent like Drahla Galaxians Mush and Adore//repel and a mass of free fringe venues.
We’ve got our first dedicated spoken word stage, a workshop & creative activity venue for young families, pop up shows and exhibitions.
We have our thirteen commissions from Wakefield artists that we have funded, which will be debuted over the weekend.
It’s alot to take in! Tomorrow we release a charity album to help you get acquainted with some of the performers. Next week we will release the full timetable. The programme will be released mid May and will be a lovely, huge map of Wakefield, showing off the scale of what’s going on.
There is so much more to be announced, but we can already guarantee there will be more people attending this Long Division than ever before, with over 100 performers and about… 30 locations for performance / exhibition (we’ve actually lost count).
So… get your tickets here. Please, tell your friends. We want to see new people in Wakefield this year. It’s going to be amazing.
