The post-Brexit landscape for touring musicians looks pretty grim today after the government made a series of announcements around restrictions for European artists coming to perform in the UK.
If similar restrictions are laid down for UK artists (and why wouldn't they be?) it'll be disastrous for developing artists. Europe really looks after its artists, with better pay and hospitality and a thirst for merch sales. We know plenty of people who make a profit from touring Europe, but barely scrape by in the UK.
The Musicians Union is trying to avoid this with a plan based around a free two year working visa for UK musicians. Give it a sign if you want to support UKs artists freedom of movement.
