It’s been good to see plenty of artists make a stand against what has been happening with SSD. In some cases, cancelling shows that would have earned them much needed income after an awful 12 months.
But the
music industry is a pretty awful place, certainly the further up the chain you go. This is the only way things can change. And the below example makes us even more honoured to have Lanterns On The Lake join us in the Autumn.Anyone following the story and accusations surrounding SSD concerts will understand why we are unwilling to play our Newcastle show if it was promoted by them. I suppose the most disappointing part of this is
that there has been no real acknowledgement by SSD of the pain, stress and discomfort they have caused some of their own employees or any indication of what they plan to do to put things right.We are very grateful that the Boiler Shop have allowed us to keep our original date so the Newcastle gig can go ahead and will be co-promoted with them and our good pal Joel from The Cluny & Brave Exhibitions.
