Til Heartland 2024 har den danske kunstner Tove Storch skabt et nyt stedsspecifikt værk. Værket tager form af en række skulpturelle installationer, som publikum kan interagere med i forbindelse med håndvask på festivalpladsen.
Med sit værk til Heartland skaber Storch rammerne for én stor rituel fællesperformance, hvor publikum kan gnide deres våde hænder op og ned ad bløde, glatte skulpturelle former. Storch sætter fokus på den sanselige oplevelse af kroppens, hændernes og fantasiens intense møde med en genstand.
Tove Storchs kunstneriske praksis kan ses som en kontinuerlig undersøgelse af skulpturens muligheder. Hendes arbejde er strukturelt og geometrisk i dets formsprog, men samtidig destabiliserer det forestillingen om det kølige minimale værk ved at svælge i betydninger.

For Heartland 2024, Danish artist Tove Storch has created a new site-specific work. It takes the form of a series of sculptural installations that the audience can interact with while washing their hands at the festival site.
With her work for Heartland, Storch creates the framework for one large ritual communal performance where the audience can rub their wet hands up and down soft, smooth sculptural forms. Storch focuses on the sensory experience of the intense encounter of the body, hands and imagination with an object.
Storch’s artistic practice can be seen as a continuous exploration of the possibilities of sculpture. Her work is structural and geometric in its formal language, but at the same time, it destabilises the notion of the cool minimal work by revelling in meaning.
