With Venus bright and prominent in the west after sunset let us not forget the great Russian achievement of the Venera Landers ( Venus ) . They launched between 1961 and 1981. Below is a rare photograph of the surface of Venus from Venera 13, launched October 1981 and landed March 1982. It sent back this photograph of the surface of Venus before being crushed after 2 hours. A little re processing by myself.
