This is to say that he is announcing the concept of Virgin Fest. No dates, no location and not a mention of the other festival he had at one time “The Virgin Mobile Free Fest” So don’t waste the click.

  4. They used to have a festival….. I bet y’all are too young to remember

Wonder if this will be comparable to Day for Night.

  7. rophel says:

Multi-experiential…so I’ll have multiple experiences? Good, I was worried because I thought the festival would be exactly one experience only.

  10. Isn’t this already in the UK as V Fest?

  11. [Rolling Stone](https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/richard-branson-virgin-fest-music-festival-738052/) wrote a *much* better article about this btw.

**Highlights: Two-day event in late 2019 to be held somewhere on the East Coast.** Venue is likely to be in a city or city-adjacent. Direct quote: “Having a festival out in the middle of a field with dust and mud is something we’re steering away from… It’s going to have a lot of sunshine and an outdoorsy feel to it.” **No camping or 24-hour facilities.** Up to 25,000 attendees per day. As for the lineup, “We’re not going to have a carbon-copy lineup with any other festival out there… The top couple of lines will be recognizable acts, but they may not be super-Top 40.”

Overall I’m glad that it’s Virgin running this thing since they’ve got a huge history of running festivals, so hopefully their first year won’t be a total shitshow. Sounds like it’ll be a mid-level city fest, nothing major.
