Live Nation and AEG monopolizing nearly all festivals in the US has killed the super festival. Both have non-competes which lead to splitting the talent and mediocre lineups for all of them.
Still processing/trying to read everything, but this looks like legitimately my favorite festival lineup in the current era (which I’d roughly say began when festivals starting overproliferating and homogenizing in the US in the middle part of the decade). I honestly might even say that about either weekend individually, never mind both collectively, with both weekends being surprisingly different. The “a la ciutat” stuff seems cool too, and it’s included with the (not-that-expensive!) ticket prices.
Mad Cool 2018 has a higher hit rate at the top for me, but this is a little deeper. Recent Primavera and Glastonbury lineups have a fair shout, but this still wins, I think. American lineups in the last five years may be better for those into pop/rap/EDM/jam (I’m partial to Bonnaroo, esp. 2019, but a few Coachella years have of course been good), but to me, I don’t think any touch this. Feel free to shout at me any other contenders.
Unbelievably good. Going to have to see if I can somehow make this happen next year despite being in the US with a busy schedule.

Now THAT’S a festival lineup.
DUDE…. This lineup FUCKS!
That’s a lineup. Take note world. 13 months away tho.
Fuck me…..I’ve been looking at line ups recently thinking, am I getting old because this line up is terrible?
Thankfully, Primavera just made me remember why I love festivals!
Jesus! That’s a fucking lineup! So much so that Run the Jewels isn’t even considered a headliner.
Goddamn

Gonna need a lot of red bulls to make it through the 11 days.
All looks great, but that second weekend is especially insane
So this is where all of ACL & Lolla’s good artists went…
Guess I’m holding onto my ticket, fuck yes!
is this for next year then? that date is confusing.
Why would they anounce the lineup so far in advance??
Sweet lineup, but that is one of the worst festival poster designs that I’ve ever seen
God damn.
PAVEMENT!! Anyone know if they’re playing somewhere in the states? I thought they never got back together
