That really is sad that these measures have to be taken. I would ask for a discount if you can’t even look out your window. But then I guess they are only asking that you don’t.
I remember being at Life Is Beautiful in 2017 at the Huntridge stage, and looking up at the Ogden Hotel which overlooks that part of the fest grounds. My initial thought was wow, if I had just booked a room at that hotel during the weekend, I could get music outside my window for free!
A weekend later, a domestic terrorist shot and killed 60 people, and wounded hundreds more, at the Route 91 music festival in the same city. It was later found out that he had also booked the Ogden hotel during Life Is Beautiful and that was going to be his original target. It could have easily been me, the weekend before.
Wouldn’t that have been one of the benefits of booking the hotel (like having the show outside your window)? Unless it’s like across the street but with no particular sightlines to anything worth seeing (which would I guess be a bit more suspicious). But also like, now if anyone were to try anything, they also know what they’re looking for.
Between this and all of Atlanta’s iconic music festivals being canceled due to gun nuts, I’m starting to think festivals overall might not be worth it 🙁
After what happened in Las Vegas you should be greatful that these measures are being taken, although inconvenient because there goes the view you paid for mirite?
