Just to pop a data point into this…. I already had Covid (slept a ton for 3 days then it was gone).
Got the J&J vaccine since it’s conventional should serve to boost existing natural antibodies. Also simply felt there are too many unknowns to pair a novel virus to a novel treatment (mRNA) and pretend you know enough about how that is going to go.
Months later, I go to HARD summer (160K people) with several friends who all had 2 shots of Pfizer.
I’m 100% fine. Got a Covid test to be sure. labs tested negative.
The 3 friends who all had 2 shots, plus minimum 3 weeks after 2nd shot before event all caught Covid. All three had mild symptoms, but no different really than the symptoms I had before vaccine was even available.
Anyway, draw from this what you will but remember that vaccines are not, nor have ever been for avoiding a disease in its entirety but rather reducing its effects. Only sharing an actual and recent event (facts get downvoted but here we are)
I’m shocked to learn AEG own 4 venues in my city + run Electric Forest and numerous other festivals. I’ve never even heard of them before.
I’ve been fully vaccinated since April and I still don’t agree with this. Really not a fan of mandating people get the vaccine.
On the bright side, hopefully this helps bring back the underground/local scenes and these mega corporations lose so much business they go under.
Edit: to the idiots who have no reading comprehension. 2 things can be true at once. 1: I have no constitutional right to attended a festival hosted by a private company. 2: I don’t support festivals mandating attendees be vaccinated. I’m vaccinated and have no irrational fear of a person who just tested negative for covid. If you do that’s fine I really don’t care.

AEG would be stupid NOT to do this.
The virus is a direct to their entire industry.
GOOD. Good to see someone stepping up.
I have a season ticket to the AEG venue in my neighborhood
Anti-vaxxers are real quiet today
The underground is about to pop off
I’m happy for this policy, but hate AEG Live and their bigot, anti-lgbtq owner Phillip Anschutz.
