We'll be honest – we don't always completely know what we are doing. Part of our approach from Day 1 has been to just give it a go and see what works.
For the last couple of years we've worked hard to add a whole wave of commissioned art and cultural work alongside the music festival programme.
It may be a little overlooked but it's produced some amazing pieces of work, from dance and theatre pieces to VR experiences, photography exhibitions, site specific poetry – and some awesome neon.
We're going to build a new part of the website this Summer to properly highlight the great artists and their work, but should our Crowdfunder be successful, it'll open up a whole new pot of money to support the amazing artists we have here in Wakefield, with distinctly public facing work. Fingers crossed!
