So we're down to the last ten days of our Crowdfunder. It's hit a bit of a wall – we're sure the fact that pubs have re-opened is purely co-incidental!
We're really up against it here. If we fall short, it means that we can't pay people to work for us, and that we can't make back the money we've already lost in 2021. Here's what's in the pipeline IF we can make it:
– Two Long Division Festivals (2021 & 2022) that mix great headline artists, emerging artists and loads of free access fun. – An education programme getting qualifications for 130 young people. – A mentor scheme to assist 10 people in creating and presenting their own stages at the festivals. – A "Community College" project at LD2021 based around creative skill sharing. – 6 Artist commissions, creating new work in the Wakefield District. – 8 standalone gigs across the year, developing new venue locations across Wakefield district. – More vinyl compilations. – Reppin Wakefield on regional and national forums which just wouldn't happen otherwise, trying to develop the city and bring in support. – Over 15 short term / freelance job roles. – A PA for promoters and artists in the city to use for next to nothing.
…and it buys us the time to dream up even more.
The crazy thing is, this is all ready to go. If Covid 19 hadn't happened, we'd be doing it right now. But it did, and we can only do these things if we can survive until January.
