The brilliant Artwalk has been going for over ten years now and involves all manner of buildings opening their doors to a now massive array of Art.
We're delighted that it will see the unveiling on some of our "Onto The Streets" commissions. They are:
Matt Abbott Poet – "Repeated Subtraction" – 14 Cross Street / 10 Bull Ring. Brand new poems based around memories and experiences in Wakefield's former music venues.
Neon Workshops – "I Formed A Band" – 41 Northgate (opposite Jolly Boys). A brand new neon commission inspired by one of our Saturday headliners.
Seanna Doonan Illustration – Radcliffe place (next to Iris). A specially designed mural depicting life in our Merrie City. Will include Seanna working on the piece during Artwalk
Onto the Streets: Mappa Music – 21 Northgate. A project to create a brand new map of Wakefield, celebrating musicians from our rich history with roads named in their honour.
