Glasgow. It’s taken a week to find the words.
Seeing near 500 of you jump, cause it & cry with us meant everything. We’ll die on the sword of stating this city is the best on the planet, and you all showed everyone in attendance exactly why that’s a fact.
It’s been the best year of our lives, ever since a capacity show at Pitchfork Music Festival Paris a year ago, something has felt different. Since then we’ve played every major showcase festival in the EU, we’ve been over to the US and showed them how it’s done in Alba, we’ve sold out venues across the UK, a debut headline EU tour, we’ve played festival stages from Poland & Slovakia, to Amsterdam. We played fkn Glastonbury Festival (four times) and cried. We found ourselves speaking backstage w Louis Theroux. We’ve heard our self produced, and self released tunes on major radio in the UK, EU + US. We’ve heard our voices interviewed on BBC Radio 1 / BBC 6 Music and our names in pages we read religiously as teens. We performed in Maida Vale. We seen our faces and heard our music on international campaigns for our fav brand Fred Perry ❤️🔥. We’ve been nominated for and won awards and we’ve played beside our idols. Every time we’ve got off a flight or out a van and gone back home for work it’s felt like a fever dream. We’ve done it all whilst still working full time. We funded it all off live fees and merch that you all kindly bought.
But this post isn’t some misplaced flex, it’s not a list of ‘achievements’. This is us saying that this is no longer just about the five of us, it’s about all of you too. You all make this happen. Last week the energy in that room encapsulated everything this band has ever meant to us. Follow your dreams, don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t. Protect your friends and family at all costs. Be kind. So with the holidays in mind we’ll leave it at this; thank you all for making our childhood dreams come true.
