To our Kendal Calling family,

Much like many of you, we are eagerly awaiting tonight’s announcement regarding the lifting of current lockdown measures. We have been working non-stop to bring you the festival you deserve, meaning tonight’s press conference is an incredibly important moment for us.

Your patience and support is always appreciated and so we ask that you bear with us over the next few days while we take stock of tonight’s announcement and have a chance to properly and thoroughly understand the guidance that follows. Rest assured, we will let you know how the announcement impacts Kendal Calling as soon as we possibly can.

Much love,

Andy, Ben and the KC Team x

  1. Why are the government restricting people that have been and had the jab, they should just restrict those that haven’t!

  2. Aww fingers and toes crossed 🤞🤞🦶🦶 xx

  3. If it’s 4 weeks…what does that mean for the festival?

  4. 🤞🏻Fingers crossed and thanks for keeping us updated

  5. They had 22000 people at Wembley at weekend, there is no reason not to go ahead!

  6. Neil Lynch says:

Good luck guys hope you get to put on the fantastic fezzy as usual

  7. How Sure are we that this is going ahead this year ?

  8. Delay to September if you have too, don’t cancel 🤞 we don’t care about the weather!!

  9. Lateral flow the way to go 🤞🙏🙌

  10. Tracy Hill says:

Saying our prayers and keeping everything crossed 🤞🤞

  11. No chance… Gov hell bent on making this flu last forever..

  12. Fingers crossed for you and the rest of the music/night time economy sector, I know there has been a lot of lobbying behind the scenes, hopefully it will be positive news 🤞

  13. Lockdown easing is going to be delayed by 4 weeks to 19 July…….. what does this mean for us..?

  14. Sooo looks like it could be a last minute decision 🤷‍♀️

  15. Mark Ellis says:

Can somebody just get married at the festival?

  16. As gutted as I’ll be if it’s cancelled it’ll be totally understandable if it is.
It’s all about the insurance for the organisation as it has been for other festivals that have cancelled.. I’m fully vaccinated and am desperate for a good festival but would personally prefer to wait until more of our population are fully vaccinated. The age range for KC has got progressively younger in my mind and this is the group who are least affected and more likely to spread it unknowingly. Controlled seated /standing events in stadiums, trial controlled gigs are totally different to festivals where we’re literally on top of each other. Better safe than sorry and roll over until next year. Make it bigger and better than ever before.

  17. Let’s all calm down for a minute. KC isn’t owned by a couple of blokes and their dog. It’s owned by a large events company. (It’s also after the “terminus” date, so should have no problem going ahead). If they set up and Boris moves the date, they might lose a ton of money. However, if they set up and if goes ahead, they make waaaaay more money than they’d lose. So it’s all down to numbers on a balance sheets. Can the parent company afford the potential loss against the chance to make millions?

  18. Split the festival in half, so its 12500 in each section! Jobs a good’un! Realistically I bet the full capacity is never all in one place at the same time! Strange one 🤔🤔🤔

  19. Just change it into a wedding, we can all have a big wedding do instead 😂

  20. July is just another dangled carrot . It was august last year then it was october then it was december then it was feb then june now july . Wake up people it has nothing to do with saving the NHS anymore as they banged on about for 18 months.

  21. Can’t see KC being able to go ahead, not enough time to set up etc. Can’t keep staff on stand by, can’t confirm to bands etc. Can’t spend a lot of money to set the site up only for the restrictions to be extended again. Feel so sorry for the organisers, they are in a no win situation. Hopefully can Kendal Calling 2022 on and it’ll be the party of the year 🍻🎶🎸

  22. Is it still to go ahead as lock down has now extended till 19th July

  23. When are we going to know if this is cancelled?

  24. Getting a bit impatient yes or no?🤔

  25. Any chance of an update we have a campervan on hire and we need to make full payment ?

  26. Come on. Valleyfest is the same weekend and they’ve said they’re planning on going ahead unless Boris says no. Give us an update

  27. Come on KC need to make travel plans if going ahead !!

  28. I just can’t see it happening. Unless you stage a football tournament in one of the fields then we should all be ok to come!

  29. Chill yah tits folks.

It will be on or it won’t.

No point hassling the guys who want it to be on asking them if they have heard back from 100s if not 100s of of messages and calls they will have to have made to try to get it on.

When they know I am sure they will advise.

  30. Lyn Tracey says:

We really need to be updated as lots of things to sort out. Its been 4 days now since the announcement

  31. Has a decision been made yet whether this is going ahead?

  32. When do we find out if this is going ahead?x

  33. Kendal calling 2021 has been cancelled it’s on Cumbria live fb page
