Tobacco Dock goes cashless for the first time this August bank holiday for Junction 2: Inner-City.

All bars, food concessions, lockers and any other points of sale at the event will only accept cards.

Cash will not be accepted anywhere at the venue.

All card types will be accepted, and there will be no limit on spend per transaction – our tills will be both contactless as well as chip and PIN equipped.

Mobile payment and digital wallet services will also work with our contactless tills, but please note, it may be affected by the number of people in the venue and signal may be weak in some of the areas of Tobacco Dock. If you do not have a bank card, please look out for substitutes that could work for you ahead of the event – for example, you can purchase a pre-paid card. There are a number of outlets out there that offer such cards, you can look at card issuers websites such as Mastercard, they can also be obtained at some newsagents stores.*

If you have any doubts or questions, please read the FAQs below, otherwise e-mail us on info@lwe.events.

*Please note, that these outlets are just a suggestion on how you can obtain a pre-paid card. The liability of your pre-paid card being operational lies solely with your card issuer and we do not accept any responsibility for any issues you might have with your pre-paid card.

  1. This speeds things up endlessly too so happy days! 🙌🏻

  2. Atleast it won’t be queuing for tokens then queuing for drinks that was annoying

  3. Carla Tutolo Francesca Vitelli il prossimo per forza!

  4. Erst die Diskotheken, bald die ganze Welt?

  5. Dave Claes says:

Stupid decision. What’s your plan if all the technology goes down and you can’t take any card payments?

  6. Somewhere to avoid, thanks for the heads up(y)

  7. I hope their systems go down so they can’t do any transactions

  8. Not sure how removing another method of payment is a “positive” thing. I carry cash and cards. Been many situations where I forgot, lost or the machine went down but the cash won’t stop working. And besides you pay the merchant bank an interchange fee each time around a card transaction goes through, so your either swallowing that or passing it on to your customers, which begs the question why you would in the first place? It’s actually cheaper for a retailer with many many customers to have a cash option on standby

  9. How stupid, just hope nothing goes down, always keep choices should something fail

  10. Ian Gander says:

    Stop using these cashless places.
I hope their machines crash and they lose a fortune.

  11. Phil Wood says:

    Wont be going there simple

  12. Certainly won’t be going here then

  13. So what happens when your card systems go down, as they inevitably will?

  14. No to the globalist agenda.

  15. Rip the Internet lines out on a Saturday night

  16. Can you buy a prepaid card with cash ??

  17. Fuck a Cashless Society! 😡

  18. I shall bring some cash, in case an emergency purchase is required

  19. So reducing choice & removing that option for customers you believe is a positive thing?!

  20. This is against the law cash is legal tender if I attended your premises I would order and leave my fucking cash on the counters and walk off and there would be fuck all u could do as id have paid. Hope you understand that you are playing a part in the cashless, communist, fascist, Marxist technocratic society that will come to social credit system and full control and surviliance. How much was you gifted for this move?

  21. This hasn’t gone well ! I will
Avoid any venue with this attitude .

  22. Good luck. You will need it.

  23. Can you imagine if the WiFi goes down 😂🤣 it’s weird not to take cash, as a business.

  24. A cashless society means no cash. Zero. It doesn’t mean mostly cashless and you can still use a ‘wee bit of cash here & there’. Cashless means fully digital, fully traceable, fully controlled. I think those who support a cashless society aren’t fully aware of what they are asking for. A cashless society means:

    * If you are struggling with your mortgage on a particular month, you can’t do an odd job to get you through.

    * Your child can’t go & help the local farmer to earn a bit of summer cash.

    * No more cash slipped into the hands of a child as a good luck charm or from their grandparent when going on holidays.

    * No more money in birthday cards.

    * No more piggy banks for your child to collect pocket money & to learn about the value of earning.

    * No more cash for a rainy day fund or for that something special you have been putting £20 a week away for.

    * No more fivers on the side because your wages barely cover the bills or put food on the table.

    * No more charity collections.

    * No more selling bits & pieces from your home that you no longer want/need for a bit of cash in return.

    * No more cash gifts from relatives or loved ones.

What a cashless society does guarantee:

    * Banks have full control of every single penny you own.

    * Every transaction you make is recorded.

    * All your movements & actions are traceable.

    * Access to your money can be blocked at the click of a button when/if banks need ‘clarification’ from you which will take about 3 weeks, a thousand questions answered & five thousand passwords.

    * You will have no choice but to declare & be taxed on every pound in your possession.

    * The government WILL decide what you can & cannot purchase.

    * If your transactions are deemed in any way questionable, by those who create the questions, your money will be frozen, ‘for your own good’.

I could write lists for 5 days & still not finish explaining how utterly awful a cashless society would be, for everyone. Even for the goody two shoes who wouldn’t dream of not declaring £500.
Forget about cash being dirty. Stop being so easily led. Cash has been around for a very, very, very long time & it gives you control over how you trade with the world. It gives you independence. I heard a story where a man supposedly contracted Covid because of a £20 note he had handled. There is the same chance of Covid being on a card as being on cash. If you cannot see how utterly ridiculous this assumption is then there is little hope.

If you are a customer, pay with cash. If you are a shop owner, remove those ridiculous signs that ask people to pay by card. Cash is a legal tender, it is our right to pay with cash. Banks are making it increasingly difficult to lodge cash & that has nothing to do with a virus, nor has this ‘dirty money’ trend.

Please open your eyes. Please stop believing everything you are being told. Almost every single topic in today’s world is tainted with corruption & hidden agendas. Please stop telling me & others like me that we are what’s wrong with the world when you hail the most corrupt members of society as your heroes. Politics & greed is what is wrong with the world; not those who are trying to alert you to the reality in which you are blindly floating along whilst being immobilised by irrational fear. Fear created to keep you doing & believing in exactly what you are complacently doing.

Pay with cash & please say no to a cashless society while you still have the choice.

Copy and Pasted – keep sharing.

  25. What kind of half witted business would reduce their customers payment options?

  26. Boycott . If internet goes down they will be in big trouble as won’t be able to accept payment ,wouldnt that be a shame .

  27. Let’s not forget people cash spreads COVID!!….🤣🤣🤣

  28. I pay cash everywhere.

  29. Cashless is the way forward and it will happen no matter if certain people are moaning about it. Better get used to it 🙌
