Great book though.
Peter Newton not ours though 🤗
When my boy was 3 he wanted to go to the ‘jungle’. Suddenly feeling the impoverishment of our country on a Sunday afternoon we ended up at a small nature reserve watching ‘common’ birds. Years of loving Pokemon later we returned and watched again and to the lake alive with micro-organisms. He was brightened and enlivened again as was l.

With the local and national governments intent on building on every scrap of open land (apart from that in Tory-voting areas), I fear this will become the norm, as there won’t be anywhere to see the wildlife locally.
