  1. Absolutely heartbreaking news, but thank you for the years if joy, music and wonderful memories you’ve given us. Honoured that I got to DJ with my FAN CLUB pals on the closing night of 2019 ❤❤❤

  2. Genuinely devastated by this and so sad I’d only made it a couple of times. My favourite place in the world. Thank you all so much for your work. Xxx

  3. This is such awful news. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve visited the festival and it truly was a wonderful, special place ❤️

  4. Heartbreaking 💔 Best festival by a million miles. So many happy memories. Love you all x

  5. Thanks so much to everyone involved for all the wonderful weekends Indietracks gave me, all the hugs with friends I saw once a year, and all the bands you have introduced me to.

  6. Si Jones says:

Thanks so so much for all your work over the years. It was truly truly unique. The safest, friendliest and best festival experience. I’m off out to the garden to solemnly raise, drink and crush a can.

  7. Heartbreaking news, but so many thanks for all the wonderful years we had❤ x

  8. So sad to hear this. Genuinely gutted. Thanks for all the good times. I’m a relative newbie but having been every year since 2014, I’ll really miss the annual trip to Butterley.

  9. Best disco ever – you know the one Gary Thatcher Kristen Goodall Tomás João Thomas Ainsley ….. It was the best …. I still think about it all.the time

    This is so sad x

  10. I’m heartbroken, the best festival I’ll ever go to, it’s given me some of the happiest memories of my life, shaped me as a person, the most welcoming friendly atmosphere I’ve experienced, and singing and bouncing to all my favourite bands until my lungs burst. I’m going to miss the can crush, and all the discos. Too many favourite performances to mention, thank you all so much for all the wonderful memories and everything, love you all xxx

  11. Thanks for organizing the best festival ever! Indietracks was the brightest star in the sky.

  12. Very sad new but thank you so much for giving me 10 years of brilliant memories and introducing me to some amazing bands. The best, nicest, happiest festival EVER ❤️ x

  13. Kay Morton says:

Oh no – absolutely devastating news. Indietracks was always the highlight of the summer. Went every year from 2011 and have so many special memories. Thank you SO much to all the organisers, the artists, stallholders, volunteers, other attendees and also to Midland Railway for adding so much joy to my life 💔

  14. I didn’t think 2021 could get any worse, but now it has. Absolutely devastated to hear. Don’t want to sound like an unrequited lover, but there’s nothing we can do to change your minds or help out getting things going for 2022? You have any support we can give x

  15. Really sorry to hear this! My favourite was 2009 when invited by my local friend Cheryl, had a fabulous time seeing Teenage Fanclub and was introduced to the mighty Art Brut. Bands playing in a tiny chapel and on a moving train, it really was wonderfully eclectic and very different to anything else out there.

  16. Gutted to hear the best festival ever is having to shut up shop.
I got to know so many bands – Martha, Just Joans, Spook School, Melenas – so many to mention. The orange cider, the owls, the crusher, the campsite disco 😢😢😢😢

  17. So sad about this, I’ve had such great times at Indietracks & met such lovely people

  18. Rafa Skam says:

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 So sad to read this… I’ve always said Indietracks is the best festival ever. I’ve seen my favourite bands there. So wonderful memories… so nice people I’ve met all these years… and now it’s over. It can’t be true 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

  19. Very sad to read this. Was daring to hope for next year! Thanks for some absolutely amazing times with the very best of people x

  20. Absolutely devastated. Thank you all so much for the many wonderful years of Indietracks . Loved every minute of it and have made so many wonderful friends and discovered so many ace bands. Thanks all so much. End of an era ❤️❤️❤️xxx

  21. Really really sad news – I’m really proud to have played at the festival and to have volunteered too with a great bunch of people. You should be incredibly proud of what you achieved.

  22. Ash Askin says:

Dreadful news. Played there twice with different bands, one of the most beautiful festivals I’ve ever been to. It’s a crime how little this government values independent businesses and creative endeavours. If you were an oil company they’d be bailing you out right now.

Much love to everyone involved with Indietracks, you blazed a beacon of hope and welcome into the sky above Derbyshire and you should be thoroughly proud of that ❤️

  23. Mo Dettes says:

Heartbreaking 😢 I’m glad I went to nearly every one of them ❤️

  24. So sorry to hear this. Had so many wonderful times at IndieTracks.

  25. This is such sad news. Our favourite festival. So many happy hours spent dodging showers in a Derbyshire field and hanging out with the best and nicest people, bands and owls. If there’s ever a chance that the festival can be resurrected then we’ll be there. But for now thank you for putting on the best festival.

  26. Thank you so much for all the hard work the team put in over all those years. I really feel Indietracks shaped me as a person and an illustrator. I made so many friends and had so much fun I went to 11 in a row! Really loved DJing at 2010.
What a magical special weekend Indietracks was. Thank you so much for making it happen and changing lives ❤️❤️❤️

  27. So so sad. Many happy memories. X

  28. Rob Pursey says:

This is such sad news. It was my favourite festival by miles. I’d like to thank everyone involved for the fun that I had, the great bands I saw and for the trains I rode on. It’s the only event of this scale I’ve ever been to where it felt like everyone was doing it for the love of it. It was a really joyful thing.

  29. The two I got to attend 2013 and 2015 were amazing. Thank you all for booking bands on hhbtm over the years.

  30. Sad news today for Indiepop music lovers and train spotters alike. I’ve DJ’d there a couple of times and co-hosted the annual pop quiz. I’ve enjoyed many Indie discos, discovered many new bands, met some lovely people over the years and probably inhaled a bit too much soot and steam! I didn’t attend the last one in 2019 but I’ve still plenty of memories of years gone by.

  31. Get there from Madrid (flight, trains, taxi), premier inn, walks to the train station, train, known faces, the welcome, ciders, from one to other stage, hugs, kisses, old and new friends, the church, the concerts in the train, the burgers, go to buy some records, some tote bags, the rain, ciders again, the unexpected concerts in the train, favourite bands, the station staff, the festival staff, the raffle, the last train, i don’t want to leave, want to dance more, the walk , music and smiles everywhere, “see you next year”, unforgettable moments there, big thanks for everything 💞.

  32. Thank you for the absolute joy, the pure musical adventure of each festival, the genuine feeling of love and optimism of all who performed, participated and attended. Thank you for the delight of dancing with giddiness, for musical memories that will stay with me forever and for enabling me to spend hundreds of hours in festival heaven. I wish you all prolonged joy and much love. ❤️ 😊 Xxxxx

  33. Kay Masta says:

This is such sad news. “Magical” doesn’t do it justice. Some of my fondest memories are from Indietracks with the incredible people I’ve met along the way. Thank you to everyone involved for making this weekend the unforgettable time that it was ❤️

  34. heartbreaking, but thank you for a solid decade of some of the best times x

  35. Awww, sad but understandable news. Festival organising has become so difficult in these covid times. Thanks for the wonderful times, the favourite bands and the friendships. I will forever be grateful. <3 xx

  36. Jan Stumke says:

Such sad news! 2020 was supposed to be my first Indietracks, all my friends had already been there and would wax lyrical about your festival. I’m sure it was a very hard decision for you.

  37. I met some of the kindest, loveliest people I have ever met at those shows and feel so lucky and honored to have played at a festival so full of genuine love and care. Thanks for doing it so well for so long. xoxo

  38. Jen Lendl says:

Thank you everyone from Stuart and I ❤️

  39. This is so sad to hear!! 😢 thank you for bringing so much joy, music and family to all of us. I know being on stage there was one of my top best because of the audience love. And the connections to very special people I’m grateful to know and have loved. 💜 I hope the future can bring you more creative opportunities that you can share with us again.

  40. I can’t be thankful enough, it was truly unique and magical and a place I, and all of us, belonged, and will always belong, to. I’ll treasure Indietracks memories forever and I’m sure hundreds of people will as well. Thank you forever!

  41. This is heartbreaking. It was the highlight of the year for so many of us. Thank you for your hard work to bring us such wonderful times.

  42. Jasmine, Emma, Andy, David and those I forget : thank you so much for all the work throughout those years. I was too young to know Sarah Records at the time, but I kind of caught up with that gorgeous little festival of yours ! I felt at home the minute I set foot at the entrance of the festival for the first time, and enjoyed every minute (including the line to enter the church, the chats at the merch tent, even the english weather). Thanks also for giving the chance to amateur bands to play in front of a large, appreciative audience, it’s something I wish we had in Belgium ! As for the best gigs I’ve witnessed (in 2016-2019-2019) my top five would be : The Aislers Set, Secret Shine, Wedding Present, Bis and Cate Le Bon.

  43. So so sad to hear this. I was looking forward to the next one where I would bring my 6 year old with me, so he’d also experience what his parents loved and cherished – the music, the trains, the people, alas it wasn’t meant to be. You’re leaving a big hole in our hearts Indietracks, thanks for all the lovely memories ❤️❤️❤️

  44. Phil Perry says:

Only just seen this 😞 had such great memories here . I don’t think any other festival will ever be as chilled and up for it as the same time ever again . The inclusivity and the fact I felt totally safe bringing my 76 year old mum along it’s a sad day but honestly thanks for the wonderful times xxx
