Latest Festival Flyer update from Greenbelt

With thanks to poet Toi Derricotte for naming it, and Idles for bringing it to our attention “joy as an act of resistance” is something of a Greenbelt mantra. It’s the glimpse of the future that gives us the hope we need to keep fighting. It’s not just OK to experience joy in the darkness – it’s essential. In the words of the US poet Jack Gilbert, ‘We must risk delight. We can do without pleasure, but not delight. Not enjoyment. We must have the stubbornness to accept our gladness in the ruthless furnace of this world.’
