There’s perhaps never been a summer before when the virtue and value of a good old get-together, a (mass) gathering, a shindig, a party, has been so clear.

After almost two long years apart, we’re feeling really hopeful that this summer we’ll get back to the fields at Boughton house together at last.

Yes, we’ll be programming the same heady blend of artistry, activism and belief as always. You can count on that. But more than anything, this year’s festival will be about you, gathering, coming back together, reforming that temporary community for that one precious weekend.

It will be about being back at the party. Not an illicit knees-up that we hope no one will notice. But a full-blown, open celebration to which everyone is invited.

But we recognise that for some, the thought of a party is daunting. All those people. After so much isolation and distancing. We get that. All we’d say is – if ever there was a space and a community within which to be held and to feel as safe as you can as you edge back towards being in communion, then surely it is Greenbelt.

So please join us this summer, as we wake up to life together again at Boughton House for Greenbelt 2022.
