It’s our final day together in the fields – at least until next year – and so far it’s been a cracking one. After explosive performances last night from House Gospel Choir and Jeremy Loops. We’ve brought in our final day with conversations about feminism, science, spirituality and poetry. There’s still so much more to come.

  5. Thanks Greenbelt Festival for a fantastic weekend: my heart is full (and my brain is exploding) after so much great conversation, discussion, poetry, music + challenge! Until next year…

  6. I passed signs for Greenbelt festival As I was driving past Kettering the other day.
It brought back memories -I went 4 or 5 times after my friend Ric Phillips introduced me to it. I even worked there one year performing childrens shows with my then girlfriend Loretta and her brother Nigel Wren.
I believe Ric and I attended the first or maybe the second Festival in Suffolk and followed it to somewhere near Bedford in successive years. I am so pleased that Next year will be it’s fiftieth year.
I remember seeing bands Sheep and Liberation Suite. One year Cliff Richard topped the bill and sang his hit at the time ‘we don’t talk anymore’ twice!
as he was nearing the end of his set he introduced Larry Norman for one song, ‘Why should the devil have all the good music’ I think?
On the Green Belt website The only name I recognise from those early days is
writer and broadcaster Richard Holloway, former Bishop of Edinburgh, who I am sure was very active in the early days.

  7. Thank you Greenbelt Festival another superb festival – joyous – !

  8. Had a great time, planning for next year

  9. It has been a brilliant weekend, and Wildwood Kin finished it off in style – absolutely cracking band.
