At Greenbelt we believe that there just might be more than one way of viewing received teachings. That’s why we try to make a space that allows people to explore other theologies which are more compassionate and authentic.

We’ve tried to be a space of recovery, rediscovery and healing; giving people time to explore new, life-affirming ways of embracing faith and sexuality – time to arrive at their own conclusions.

The revelation of that truth takes time, often lots of time, and Greenbelt has tried to be a space of patient holding. Our experience is that these journeys most often lead people to finding God in the end, waiting for them.

That’s why we’ve signed this letter calling for a ban on ‘Conversion Therapy’. We know and love *way* too many people who would attest to the harm and cost of conversion therapy on and in their lives not to.

Calling Christian leaders who support the ban!

You’ve probably seen that many have signed a letter against a full ban on conversion therapy, but we’re calling you to demonstrate that love is louder then fear!

Thank you for showing solidarity with the LGBTQ community

  3. Great to see not everyone approves of the therapy xx

  4. Thank you for this. It means a lot.

  5. Thank you Greenbelt for creating spaces for discussion and empathy at a time when just about no-one in the mainstream church would contemplate these issues. In seeing how certain church teachings hurt others, I started to understand how other church teachings had hurt me and were continuing to do so.
