Friends & loyal Oceanfest fans

Following the recent tightening of restrictions by the Government, we would like to update you on our plans for #Oceanfest20.

We realise that it has been frustrating for some of you that we have not posted an update since Friday 13th March, but please appreciate we are a small player in an industry where even the big players are taking massive strain and we, unlike those larger corporately owned events, are facing challenges and uncertainty like never before in our 22-year history.

As some of you may be aware, others less so, Oceanfest is produced each year by a very small team of just three people, who work closely with the local authorities and emergency services to ensure the safety of you, our faithful fans, at the festival each year.

The advice from Central Government and Public Health England in relation to COVID-19 is constantly being monitored by the team and how far into the future these current restrictions will extend still appears to be an open question. As such it may be that we need to postpone #Oceanfest20 until later in the year in order to protect you, our fans, our volunteers and freelance staff, and the local community here in North Devon.

The team's objective remains to ensure that the event continues and to look at alternative dates which might work with our suppliers, landowners and the local authority, and aim to have a further update for you on Friday 17th April which will be posted on our website and social media pages.

Due to ongoing self-isolation, our offices remain closed however rest assured we are working tirelessly to consider all the possibilities of producing a safe and fun event for all of you to enjoy at an appropriate time.

We ask for your patience until Friday 17th April when we will be able to share more details.

Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you all when it's safe to do so.

  5. Any chance you can make a decision by 10 April GoldCoast Oceanfest ?That’s the day that Ruda wants the balance for our accommodation… if Ruda reopens in June, but Oceanfest is postponed I will lose the whole £700…

  8. Always best to stay safe but just wondering if the date did have to be moved and I couldn’t make the new date would I be able to get my money back?

  10. Edit: Ruda have now changed balance to be due 4 weeks before 👍

    Appreciate these tough times. However, Ruda want their balances paid by 10th April. If you could make a decision by then that would be great. Meanwhile if anyone manages to get a payment extension out of parkdean please let me know & I will try the same!

  11. Sorry catching up late, if the event is moved, great for tickets. We then have hassle of moving reserved accommodation, we are also at Ruda? which may not be available at the later date, is that correct and payment issues again?

    Ruda have just announced that we do not have to pay the balance until 4 weeks prior to our stay 😥
