Kendal Calling

Kendal Calling started in 2006 at Abbot Hall in Kendal and moved in 2009 to Lowther Deer Park, near Penrith, on the edge of the Lake District. It has grown into one of the biggest festivals in the north of England.

The bill leans on the indie and guitar bands northern crowds love, with Britpop survivors, new names and plenty of dance music after dark. There's a fancy dress theme every year, the woods are full of small stages and art, and a lot of the audience come back year after year.
