Jagannath Ashtakam – Shri Jagannath Ashtakam was composed by Adi Shankaracharya in praise of Lord Jagannath on his visit to Puri.

“Sri Jagannath Ashtakam” is a sacred hymn that praises Lord Jagannath, the source of all avatars of God. The text highlights the importance of the annual Ratha Yatra festival, which celebrates the journey of Lord Jagannath, his brother Balabhadra, and sister Subhadra from their temple in Puri. This festival is one of the most significant events in the Hindu calendar and attracts millions of devotees every year. The chariot procession during the Ratha Yatra is a sight to behold, with devotees pulling the massive chariots of the deities through the streets of Puri.
