FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS: Riot Gulll X Take Up Space Highlights with HotWax, CLT DRP & Ghost Car – Quarterhouse, Folkestone

Festivals and gigs. A listings calendar, plus previews, news, reviews, and photos

RIOT GULLL is a new brand of alt-rock & post-punk live music & club nights in the seaside town of Folkestone, on the South Coast of England, championing women and gender-minorities artists + DJs.
Riot Gulll is produced by Compass Music and inspired by Riot Grrrl, the 1990s underground feminist punk movement.

After an incredible sold-out launch at local grassroots music venue The Chambers back in Nov 2022, Riot Gulll was invited to do a takeover of Folkestone’s Quarterhouse at the invite of Folkestone Womens Forum on Sat 11th March 2023 around International Women’s Rights Day for their Take Up Space festival. The event was supported by Creative Folkestone.

We took this chance to capture some highlights of the amazing crowd and artists including London’s Ghost Car, Hastings’ HotWax and Brighton’s CLT DRP. We also asked the artists some questions about the punk scene and women in music… Watch this space for the longer video with all artists’ interviews!

Follow @riotgulll (with 3 L’s) on Instagram for news, tickets & upcoming events! Next one is Friday 21st July The Chambers.
