  1. I saw R.E.M live twice once at a small auditorium in Greensboro N.C. in 1983 when Stipe still had long hair and again in 1984 outdoors at a small women's college in Raleigh North Carolina. Both shows were unforgettable l will never forget them Both were incredible experiences that l will never forget.

  2. This is not their greatest tits.

  3. My first glastonbury. Stumbling down a dark lane, then the hedges parted and rom afar, the pyramid stage with REM playing….. I'm here….I thought

  4. Who is that on drums. s that Joey W?

  5. d r says:

  6. This is my favorite concert love REM.xx

  7. Saw them at Loch Lomond in Scotland, they were amazing!!!

  8. I was there. Stipes came on and yelled "GLASTONBURY, ABOUT FUCKIN' TIME". It was a perfect gig, so glad I got to see them.

  9. jude999 says:

Monster was the beginning of the end. They should have quit then.

  10. Super concert dommage ce soit séparés et arrêter ça restera toujours mon groupe préféré

  11. Adam Coe says:

mike mills has some of the best show clothes of any band, fight me

  12. I saw them in Bflo…..89? 90? Im pretty sure they were one of the first 'young' or 'current' bands to address Viet Nam, and might I remind you that he was hiding his sexual orientation from the public even then.

I *did go see Patti Smith the next day. Death in Vegas, who she followed, over ran, so I ended up missing the headline act on the main stage: the Manic Street Preachers, at their height. But, to this day, Patti Smith at glasto 99 remains the greatest rock n roll show I've ever witnessed.

  14. Je rajoute un commentaire silencieusement 😎 👍👍👍

  15. Lisa says:

One of my biggest regrets is never going to see them live. They are one of my all time favorite bands.

  16. 🎶+🌻🌼+💫=👍

  17. CTCards says:

One of the few bands of this era I did not see. I hope (maybe never will happen) they tour again. I wasnt all into them that much til Monster.

  18. I loved seeing the Monster tour at MSG, NYC. Missed the Fables of the Reconstruction/Reconstruction of the Fables tour cause my parents made me do my Domino's delivery job, and I had tickets.

  19. simon L says:

    Excellent sorely missed too

  20. A little before my time, but my dad and uncle went to high school with Stipe. I love their music though, it's like coming home. We southerners are lucky to have a few bands like this that can compete artistically with some of the other greats from bigger and more popular music scenes.

  21. I saw them on this tour in Slovenia…uh..

  22. Jon Powell says:

    Please reform and tour again

  23. R.E.M. , Rock Werchter 1999: best concert of my life

  24. why radiohead don't upload glastonbury festivals in youtube and rem yeah?:(

  25. Picture this, a day in december! Very nice surprise to listen this when I both love REM and Blondie

  26. Not sure any other band could get away with a line like "…talk of circadian rhythm…" but Stipe pulls it off!

  27. jbernierjr says:

I would never admit to enjoying REM back in the day, too much damage to my Heavy Metal cred, haha. I'd have had to find all new friends and it would've been this whole thing. Anyway, great beautiful music here, wish I'd have listened to more than the hits before this.

  28. Bob Marley says:

    35:42 – Best song in the show…

  29. Trust1878 says:

I was there! My first Glastonbury. I remember getting too high a few songs in after not eating enough, and pulled a whitey, my mate Rob had to help me get back out of the crowd a little. I also saw REM play again in 2003. Great times. I would give anything to go back.

  30. I was there, 1st Wedding anniversary, our honeymoon the year before at Glasto 98 was a mudfest.😁

  31. 🤣😂😂 what a fucking real band👍👍 but ask someone a day's ??? Who is REM?? 🤣😂🤣👍👋👋👍 you"ll be surprised 😞😞

  32. I love you, guys. I love you.

  33. They re just brilliant. No matter how big they got. They could have introduced their accompanying musicians though…

  34. Gary gari says:
