This second movement of Dvořáks Romantic Pieces is energetic and full of life. It is very different from all other movements of this piece. We think it shows great Wanderlust – some sections sound like trains moving. Dvořák traveled a lot throughout his lifetime and took many inspirations from the places he visited – especially the USA. About us:
Magdalena (piano) and Mariella (violin) Haubs look back on numerous career highlights both as individual artists and as duo partners. The internationally performing sister pair has concertized in halls such as the “Wiener Musikverein” in Austria, the philharmonic halls of Munich and Essen in Germany, the “Sommets Musicaux Festival de Gstaad” in Switzerland, and the “Metropolitan Museum of Art” in New York City. The Haubs DUO has won several prizes at the German competition “Jugend Musiziert.” Several performances were awarded with additional prizes, broadcast on the radio, and one performance was released in the annual Jugend Musiziert Winners CD of 2009.
Mariella holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from The Juilliard School, where she studied as a Kovner Fellow with Catherine Cho and Itzhak Perlman. Magdalena was musically guided by teachers Gerald Fauth, Margarita Höhenrieder, Michael Schäfer, Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, Aquiles Delle-Vigne, and Markus Bellheim.
