Download Festival 2023 took place this June over 4 days at Donington Park celebrating the event’s 20th anniversary. So, let’s look back at some of the highlights from the weekend including Bring Me The Horizon’s epic headline show with guests Nova Twins and Evanescence’s Amy Lee, a double headline set from Metallica, the return of Slipknot, the reunion of The Blackout and loads more amazing performances from Architects, Ghost, Parkway Drive, Motionless In White and Ice Nine Kills.

Uh Bring me the Horizon didn’t play classics. It was a disappointing set, considering the festival. Not even Antivist smh

I’m sure Download would have like BMTH is half the audience didn’t head back to their tent after Evanescence.

They were all amazing
Coheed and Cambria and Skindred were my favourites of the weekend. Coheed deserved a much bigger stage than Avalanche. Evanescence was okay, but the sound dipped at times, crowd was a bit flat too.

I’ve been to a few festivals now, including Download before, and this was possibly the best of all time!
This was not my 10 biggest moments – hardly saw any of that stuff as I was hardly at the main stage haha!! – they are totally missing

Ghost were magnificent and really ought to have a headline slot next time.
Mammoth WVH!
What was the Metallica secret set lol I was there and didn’t hear about it saw them twice too
BMTH headline was INSANE, their stage set was incredible!! Also Evanescence and Electric Callboy are main stage headline material, their crowd was way too big, I honestly can’t understand why Download put them on small stages.

This was my first Download all I can say is wow. The people there look scary but so friendly when you talk to them. Everyone looks after each other and the sets were incredible.
