  8. Shamefully, The afgan war can never be match in a festival of Remembrance, as long as It was not an a response to agression, instead of a war maketh by a external power as USA.

Huw Edwards forgot to also mention the Boys Brigade And Church Lads Brigade who also both played a huge part in not only the First World War but the second one also. Funny how the BBC only ever mention the Scouts. Both the Boys Brigade And Church Lads Brigade had members involved in the actual trench warfare as many BB companies rallied to the call to arms to assist in Britain’s hour of need in WW1 by becoming part of the governments cadet scheme initiative. Not all BB companies enlisted though. Some just acted as messengers or provided firefighting duties and stretcher bearers. The Church Lads Brigade had a huge role in the actual fighting side of the war too. The Church Lads Brigade were affiliated to the Kings Royal Rifle Corps. Which is why they have the red flash up the sides of their trousers. I just wish the BBC would stop being so blatantly biased and call it as it is. The Boys Brigade And Church Lads Brigade both carried on their sense of duty during WW2,. Both doing firefighting duties and helping sort through bombed buildings and many other wartime duties.

Let's not forget the Promise to the troops 3 weeks after D-Day for stabilization of world currencies,as a foundation for a lasting peace.

Churchill called for Stabilization of world currencies as a foundation for a lasting peace and international cooperation since at least 1925 but then he had been an officer of the crown in the trenches of ww1 and seen many an agonizing death of young soldiers in that war.
Promised "home fit for heroes and war to end all wars"

According to my Aunt working at Bletchley park for Churchill during ww2.
Pat Moylan fill of honour Bletchley park.it didn't work so they had to find new words as home fit for heroes and war to end all wars would have been too upsetting for the soldiers WW 2.

My grandfather served with the American Expeditionary Forces, U.S. Army, in France towards the end. I cannot say truly in words what this festival of remembrance meant to me. It reflected the utmost in human feeling about that period, the lives affected. Sir Bryn Terfel, carrying on the tradition of great Welsh singers with Roses of Picardy. Wow, emotion. Simply magnificent. Thanks to those who arranged this unforgettable event. God bless those who fought for freedom, and their families who suffered loss and anxiety. We must not ever forget the Great War and those who served. It must not be cast aside as some long ago event. It's present, here and now – in each of us in the West – as free peoples.
