Michael Warner Hart OBE (1934-2018)
Mike Hart died in his sleep on 11th December.
Mike was the founder of the Festival and its Artistic Director for over 25 years.

Oh such sad news. Mike invited me to some wonderful events over the years. The pie and pint nights spring to mind.
He created something very special that continues to grow from strength to strength.

Very sad news indeed – he was a wonderful man and a pleasure to deal with. I distinctly remember the phone call when he first booked us (The Zblues Devils) to play at the festival back in the early 2000’s – I was relatively new to the whole gig negotiations at that level and I danced around the subject of the fee – I eventually plucked up the courage and asked him how much we would be paid and he simply answered – “How much are you worth!” Brilliant lesson in life 😂
