New post added at Festival Flyer - Barking Poets at The Great Escape 2024
You can't avoid listening the Barking Poets and imagining how they must have spent many a long sweaty night pogoing to The Clash down at the local school disco. The alt-punk London band wears this retro badge firmly and proudly on its sleeve like a boy scout with a merit for woodcraft. It's unreconstructed classic stuff and carries enough of a dose of originality to ensure the songs don't fall into the derivative file.

New post added at Festival Flyer - Chubby Cat at The Great Escape 2024
Ireland isn't all about new snarly, rappy, or massively electro bands these days... the country continues to produce delightful voices too... it's in the population's green genes. But Chubby Cat does fuse her vocal talent with some interesting nu-rock hooks, and synth-heavy backing tracks - and her lyrics don't mince words either. Joined on stage by a guitar and live drums, this singer oozes with presence and will quite rightly earn herself places at festivals and gigs on musical merit alone.

Only get to see them depending on the timing! Got to prioritise The Hives π
Got to be seeing them for the first time at Download 2012 (also my first Download) it was in the glorious sunshine after a week of rain. I’ve seen them 5 times since and they never fail to disappoint π
First time I saw Rise Against was at Download 2008, what a brilliant performance I will never forget it as they quickly became my favourite bands!
π
Mine was seeing them at the Manchester Apollo late last year. The energy they created with the crowd was crazy! It was a performance that proved they deserve their headlining spot at Download! Would love to win the shirt so I can wear it in 4 WEEKS time at Download!
The gig that started it all back in 2009 for me π first time seeing a show at the Apollo and them mentioning download – didn’t even know what it was back then!
Never seen them live yet, so be ticking them off the bucket list in 5 weeks!!
This year at Download will be my first, looking forward too it though
I fell in love with Rise Against because of guitar hero! My fav moment has to be being one of the first to start a circle pit for “Give it ALL” at download 2015!!

Seeing them at Download 2015, it was my first Download, first time seeing Rise Against and such an amazing atmosphere. They were the main reason I went and although the were amazing seeing them in Manchester last year 2015 was my favourite. I cannot wait to see them again! ππ
Jonathan It’s yo band!!
My best moment of seeing rise Against has to be their show in Newcastle upon Tyne at the 02academy as I was lucky enough to photo them. Being a massive fan I’d waited years to see them live…due to working in care I had to await my moment to attend one of their gigs
Have they sent the tickets you purchased out yet??
Favourite memory was winning a headbanging competition at the Somersby tent at download a few years back and the prize was going back stage to watch the start of rise against’s set! π€πΌ
First time seeing them ππΌπ
My first year at download seeing muse with all newly acquired friends, jumping around and having a great time x
Dublin 2017 in The Academy! Only good concert I’ve been to there and was one of the best I’ve ever been to! https://www.instagram.com/p/BbNW-bfFLnr/
June 1st 2017, I got an email saying be at Hyde Park Corner that day. I totally ditched work and went here the band showed up, played an acoustic set, met people and took selfies. There was only about 20 people there and it was the best day of my MFinβ life! The selfie has been my lock screen on my phone ever since. And the next night I watched them at The Garage in London. Literally one of the best gigs Iβve ever been to. Atmosphere, sweat, performance. I still watch the YouTube videos!
One of the best concerts I have been to , went to The Academy Dublin in 2017 to see Rise Against with opening band Sleeping With Sirens. It was the first time I saw them live and I am still amazed by the experience. The set list included so many of their iconic songs, everyone in the crowd knew every word it was a perfect atmosphere all around. https://instagram.com/p/BbNUHSGjhXD/
At download 2015 of course π they kicked ass on main stage

Good laugh looking back tho ππ» weβre coming download this year , I havenβt got the tickets , my mates got them didnβt trust me πππ
Saw my first Rise Against show at TJs in Newport on the 4th of May 2005! Alexisonfire played too! I was 17 years old! I bought an amazing Rise Against jacket which is now too small for me! π’
