Latest update from Dance Umbrella
Catch it at 1.30pm & 7.30pm on 11 October at Battersea Power Station and then at four other venues across London Origami – brought to you by Dance Umbrella – sees the unlikely pairing of a monumental shipping container and a gravity-defying dancer – Watch the video here for a taste of what to expect.
Inspired by the Japanese art of paper folding, don’t miss this free performance on Wednesday 11 October on the piazza of Circus West Village. Watch this breath-holding spectacle where the container gently unfurls, creating a geometric performance space where dancer Satchie Noro dangles from its sharp corners and glides on its vertiginous edges with Battersea Power Station as a backdrop. The container is in continuous movement, oblivious to the mesmerising duet that it is part of.
Created by Paris-based Satchie Noro and Silvain Ohl with music by Fred Costa, Origami is an outdoor event, suitable for everyone, which takes places in five locations along the Thames. Join us for an astonishing heavy-metal transformation of our cityscape.
