Maart sent me the music for White Dress for a friend and I to play at my friend’s wedding in the USA a few years back. Thanks Maart you made two ( well all lot of!) people very happy. Pity I can’t be there but i’ll raise a big glass to you … a fellow Mancunian!
I left before the headline bands on the Thursday night last year as I just wasn’t interested in them. But the Friday and Saturday were great!

I got to play Aunt Sally with Maart last year, though there was no time to exchange more bread recipes. There was no way to get there this year, and I didn’t know it would be my last sight of his smiling face. I had to keep the photo he posted of that smile when he played – literally on the same instrument – with Yusef. Though neither of us believe in them, I still hope for a miracle. (Can’t post the photo in comments, sorry.)
