Meet Dave Luckham, who is Stage Manager for Stage 2 and Site Fork Lift Driver. Dave has worked at the Festival every year since 1998

Dave gave us so many great stories but we wanted to share two of his memories working with the comperes over on Stage 2.

The year I think was possibly 2015 or 2016, an onstage moment that I lovingly remember. The compere mic was always in an open drawer beside the monitor desk. Keith Day would, when given the cue to enter stage, grab it and walk on, but on this occasion, grabbed it, took 2 paces and found he was holding a very large courgette. We then gave him his mic. 😊

2015 – Peggy Seeger has completed her line checks, I ask her if she wanted to stay on stage for her intro from our compere Jo, to which she says that she’s too old to keep going back and forth. As Jo steps forward to speak, Peggy then introduces Jo to the audience. Absolute charm.
