Gender Roles, not super new either, but I fell for them properly this year
Tiny band from Manchester called Saint Ivy. Unbelievable.
Counterfeit. Granted, they’re not new, but they’ve totally changed their sound and produced one of the best sets I saw at Reading.
Also, Night Riots are amazing. Not particularly new either, but not big in the UK yet and honestly one of the best bands I’ve ever seen live.
Alien Weaponry 🎶😍🎶
I’m gonna say Witching Waves, their album Persistence is still my AOTY so far.
yonaka Brill live
The Manleys, Charles and the Big Boys and Automatic Laughter all deserve slots imo

Catgut Hooligans 👍🏻👍🏻💕💕💕🎸🎸🎸
Slow Crush! Saw them at Trees and Arctangent. Find of the festival season for me! Also, Ithica. Had heard of them before but their ATG set was amazing and fully sold me on them.
Wrest. Hands down. Amazing.
While She Sleeps! 🤘🏻
From Trees? False Advertising and Brutus are the two I’m listening to since (I mostly saw bands I already knew, this year). Also a shout out to my friend’s new band Bumble Fumble, who played on the comedy stage. From elsewhere, Fresh are living in my car CD player, then there’s Hotel Lux, Slingshot Dakota, Soot Sprite, Tree of Wyrd… always lots of new bands to find 🙂
HOLDING ABSENCE 🖤
fights and fires with there radio 1 play and Spotify punk play list are growing fast
Petlib., From Indian Lakes, Birds In Row, Holding Absence, Knocked Loose, Basement, portrayal of guilt, Dinosaur Pile Up, Vein, Caspian, Plead., Seizures
From Trees… Definitely The Bottom Line and The Xcerts! Amanda?
Not new but Ghostemane
Wild cat strike
Just started listening to The slow readers club and superdrone
S K Y L Y T S. I think they’re Hereford boys… Been doing some pretty big shows around the UK and filling shows, haven’t really heard anything like them before either. Check them out.
Brutus. My AOTY frontrunner.
Freighter, and Azusa
NORMANDIE By far the best band I’ve found in a few years; one of the most welcoming and enthusiastic ‘heavier’ bands I’ve seen for a while.
