Few photos from the The Society for Popular Astronomy Residential Weekend Course at Preston Montford Field Education Centre. This year the subject matter was Messier, the physics, visual observing and imaging. They run these residential courses every year with the aim of educating newcomers to astronomy and advancing the knowledge of experienced amateur astronomers. Every year the sessions are run by Robin Scagell and Prof Ian Morison ( Jodrell Bank ), I was asked to join the team for the second time this year and delivered 5 talks, one telescope remote guide and a joint RGB imaging workshop with Prof Ian Morison. Everyone seemed to get a lot from the weekend and went back home happy and knowledgable.
