In my opinion, nothing described is particularly damning and it all seems like normal festival occurrence. It likely doesn’t take away from the experience at least.

    So…it’s hot and crowded?

    Consider me shocked

  3. Shocking news, the grass doesn’t stay green and upright after 100 of thousands of people dance on it, who could have predicted.
And the sun ! It shines ! What a revelation

  4. While this all seems like normal stuff to us I actually like the article. For people who aren’t used to festivals, it gives them a peek into how it really is and might help to prepare them better (or not go at all!).

  5. Oh.. so it’s a music festival.

    Why post this article then?

I’ve never been to Coachella but this describes just about every festival I’ve ever been to.

  8. Never went to Coachella, but did Phish Festival 8 at same grounds. I totally remember:
    – sitting in a moving slice of shade from a palm tree Sunday morning.
    – walking forever to get from camp to the entrance and back (worst at night)
    – skipping the ferris wheel and figure 8 donuts due to line
    – trekking from the main stage to the bathroom on opposite side of venue field – don’t wait until you really gave to go
But the worst to me, was the lame police force onsite. Roaming camp on horses, coming into camps and busting people who had pipes out, chasing any scent of herb, causing duper bad vibes. Arizona can have Palm Springs and Indio as far as I’m concerned. California doesn’t need it.
Sooooo many better festival venues out there.

  9. i cant believe people get paid to write stuff like this

Insider has been putting out a lot of Coachella articles recently (shocker).
There was actually a very insightful one about getting to and from and what method was best: ride share, drive yourself or their shuttle.
Didn’t realize how far you had to walk (and how shitty that walk was) if you took uber or drove.
