Genuine question- how did Buku festival ever start?
I know little of Buku besides some cool tracks he’s made. He has a definite sound that’s his own and he makes cool songs, but I didn’t know of a dedicated following or clout in the music industry. How did he gain the popularity to host his own festival? Is it perhaps marketing and organization more than his own popularity? What am I missing from this story?

This is absolutely devastating my favorite fest in the country. Rezz>Porter>Tame Impala was an all time run this year.
This is so weird to me. I went this year and it was one of my favorite festivals ever and seemed plenty busy.
Oh fuck, first Music Midtown and now Buku… I should’ve gone with 2 of my guy friends.
Met the guy Buku on my layover to Project Z this year, didn’t even know it was him until after that weekend
Some of the best memories of my life were at Buku.
Although this does make it easier to support local events and not AEG.

Loved this festival. Only place I could see ADTR, Porter, bassnectar, and Rezz in the same day.
Went to the inaugural Buku. One of the best run festivals for a first time festival. The one and only time I saw Avicii.
This was the best city festival hands down. I hope they make it back from this
