It’s disappointing but not a shock. I was convinced it could happen last April before realizing how bad the pandemic really was, clearly my coping mechanism was denial. Looking forward to April 2022!
Everyone knew April was gonna be cancelled, question is whether October still in the running. Because it’s in Cali though, the chances are particularly low.
How many cancellations can happen before festival companies start going bust? Serious question because I’m not sure what their tolerance level is before they have to admit they are no longer a viable business, tough thing to think about though
we finally got notices yesterday from elevate (the ticket vendor) and lyte (the approved resale vendor). no word on refunds or rollover dates, but the wording implies both will eventually be available.

* the festival regulars all knew this was coming. it’s been clear for a few months that april was impossible.
* we’re still desperately hoping for october.
* even though it’s clearly the right call, and even though i knew it was coming, this still hurts.
Given California has some of the highest rates of infection and death right now I’m not surprised
