Let’s face it… there’s simply not enough surf guitar music at Glastonbury.
In fact we’d go so far as to say that in all our years since 1993 we can’t remember a single band who’ve filled this void…correct us if we’re wrong.
We’ve cast our minds back as far as we can over the years we’ve been at Glasto, and the only notable ensemble we can recall playing anything vaguely similar to this uniquely frenetic style of frenzied power guitar was The Bikini Beach Band…and they do it with a comedy twist.
So we’re excited to be getting ready for this sonic wave of guitars and drums from South America that’s due to crash onto the sandy, sun-soaked beaches of Worthy Farm this week.
Los Fuckin’ Surfer Smokers are a dynamic Colombian power-trio out of Bogota who will electrify you with their explosive brand of South American surf-rock – blended intimately with hot Latin rhythms.
And, as they are playing no less than six sets over the weekend, you’ve no excuse to say they clash with your favourite chart pop act on the pyramid – miss them at your peril.

But should you get to the end of the last headliner and realise you’ve still not experienced their fizzing energy, there will still be time to race over to the Rocket Lounge to catch their final show of the festival.
Unique – but comfortably familiar…
Los Fuckin’ Surfer Smokers try to stand out whilst at the same time epitomizing every classic surf band you can bring to mind. They honor the genre’s roots, drawing inspiration from iconic acts like The Surfaris and The Ventures, and they infuse their music with a beautifully balanced mix of rock and roll, swing, rockabilly, and even Kumbia. This fusion is what creates such a vibrant and energetic spaghetti western experience….delicious.
The single, “Kumbia Surfin’,” is a perfect showcase of their live appeal….
In a recent interview, guitarist Sergio freely admitted that the Colombian surf music scene is ‘relatively small’ – but Los F@ckin Surfer Smokers are still out there to make a big impact!
Having already toured widely, they’ve seen audiences swell in numbers and are building a growing international fan-base outside of their home turf..
Their Glastonbury appearnces are a part of a current series of gigs that includes stops in Germany, Belgium, and Spain.
