Kasabian: A Sonic Onslaught at Latitude
Kasabian’s headline set at Latitude was a spectacle of unbridled energy and anthemic rock. The Leicestershire band, with their signature blend of psychedelia and stadium-sized riffs, transformed the Obelisk Arena into a cauldron of euphoria.
From the opening bars of ‘Empire’, the crowd was ignited, their collective voice a tidal wave of adoration. The band, led by the charismatic Tom Meighan, were in their element, their performance a masterclass in crowd engagement. Each song was a call to arms, a sonic battle cry that united the festival-goers in a shared experience.
While the older hits were undoubtedly the crowd-pleasers, Kasabian also showcased material from their latest album. Tracks like ‘Rocket Fuel’ and ‘Strongest Together’ demonstrated a band still capable of pushing boundaries and evolving their sound.
However, it was the classic hits that truly defined the set. ‘Fire’, ‘Club Foot’ and ‘LSF’ were delivered with a raw intensity that transported the audience back to a time when rock music ruled the airwaves. The encore, a blistering rendition of ‘Shoot the Light Away’, was the perfect crescendo to a performance that will be remembered as one of the highlights of the festival.
Kasabian proved once again that they are masters of their craft. Their Latitude set was a triumphant return to form, a reminder of why they are one of Britain’s most beloved bands.
