We are incredibly saddened to hear of the passing of K-Hand. Kelli was a true original and a pioneer of Detroit house and techno – her huge talent saw her rise through the ranks of a male-dominated scene, paving the way for women in electronic music. This, and a body of music spanning Acacia Records, Warp, K7! and more, will serve as a lasting legacy.
We feel honoured to have had the chance to invite Kelli to play at J2v last summer, and we were looking forward to working with her on multiple upcoming shows, including Junction 2: Inner City and Printworks. A great loss for the electronic music community, our thoughts are with her family and friends.
