Elder, Ancestors and Sedulus confirmed for HRH Doom Vs Stoner Chapter III
HRH adds more champion artists to the festival’s line-up
HRH Doom Vs Stoner Chapter III: A HRH city experience, at the O2 Academy in Sheffield, between Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th September 2018. This battle of the metal camps has already announced 20 artists who’ll be championing their tribes at the UK’s number one celebration of these loud, powerful genres. Now HRH are proud to announce three more, who’ll be playing the main stage on Saturday 29th.
Saturday headliners Elder are a three-piece heavy metal band from Boston, Massachusetts. Fronted by Nick DiSalvo on guitar and vocals, with Matt Couto on drums, and Jack Donovan on bass. Elder began as a stoner band back in 2006. Still steeped in their fuzz-shrouded, stoner and doom roots, Elder have evolved their own style to become giants in metal in their own right.
Also formed in 2006, Ancestors are a 5-piece ensemble from Los Angeles, who also mine rich veins of heavier lodes of stoner rock and doom metal. Unusually, Ancestors have also sought to bring in musique concrete and experimental music into their sound. Another musical adventure, c/o HRH Doom Vs Stoner, Chapter III.
The third band HRH are proud to announce and add to the Saturday Room 1 line-up is Sepultrus. Sepultrus formed in London in 2005 and is comprised of Will Wichanski (Bass & Vocals), Rich Williams (Guitar), Amit Patel (Guitar) and Mithun Shah (Drums). Shared love of heavy riffs and psychedelic grooves brought the band together and, being committed to live performance, they’ve toured extensively, honing their sound: dynamic, heavy grooves, shot with interludes of ambience and psychedelia.
Elders, Ancestors and Sedulus will be joining sludgemeisters Crowbar; the heady post-metal Ukrainian Doom/Stoner band Stoned Jesus; and British doom metal band, Conan, and their trademark “caveman battle doom.”
All artists are raring to go for HRH DVS Chapter III. Let battle commence!
