When Muslim comedian Imran Yusuf came to Greenbelt in 2015 he didn’t know quite what to expect. Instinctively, as he walked on stage he called out “Salaam Alaikum” and was overwhelmed when the Greenbelt –
majority Christian – audience, as one, returned his greeting with a warm, communal “Wa-Alaikum Salaam”. He was blown away.At Greenbelt, we’re proud to make a space that welcomes and respects those of all faiths and none, and that makes room for listening, learning, encounter and inspiration.
