Latest Festival Flyer update from Greenbelt
[ad_1]
We can’t wait to premier a clutch of brand new, specially commissioned short films from four great Muslim artists – two in the US and two here in the UK – as the culmination of our work with Amal and the wonderful Chicago-based curator Asad Ali Jafri over these last few years.
In the shadow of the 20-year anniversary of 9/11 – the event which so singularly, crudely and violently re-set relations between Muslims and non-Muslims – this livestream premier is the latest step along the long road in our commitment to engage more deeply with Muslim artists, thinkers and leaders who can help us better understand, respect and celebrate the breadth, depth and diversity of Muslim identity and creativity.
So, join us at 8pm on Tuesday 28 September – on either our Youtube or Facebook channels – for a world premiere of the work, narrated for us by longterm festival friend Abdul-Rehman Malik. The film premier will be followed by a discussion hosted by Asad and featuring the four artists who’ve made the work.
To read more about the artists and this special, Amal-funded, commissioned project, go to https://www.greenbelt.org.uk/streams/no-normal/
Please save the date and time now. It promises to be a very special evening.
