Poetry often finds words of meaning when other methods fail. And that’s exactly what Pádraig Ó Tuama’s reading of ‘Returnings’ did back in 2014 at the festival AKA the ‘grassy sacrament at the end of every August’, Pádraig’s words, not ours.

An Irish poet, theologian and conflict mediator in Belfast, Pádraig’s poetry explores faith, gay identity, conflict and story, and intersperses it with anecdote, warmth and humour to weave words of meaning in the space where certainty fails. You can listen to the full recorded poetry reading on our website https://www.greenbelt.org.uk/talks/when-certainty-fails/ and in our app https://www.greenbelt.org.uk/app/.
