[ad_1]
Listed as one of the BBC’s Broadcasting Stars of the Future, Emma Dabiri is a presenter, social historian and writer. She comes to Greenbelt with her new book, Don’t Touch My Hair, which charts the cultural history and symbolism of Afro-textured hair, sweeping from pre-colonial Africa to the dubious provenance of Kim Kardashian’s braids and showing how black hairstyling culture can be understood as an allegory for black oppression and, ultimately, liberation. Her message? Black hair matters.#gb19 #WitAndWisdom 😄🤔
